3.5 miles from the Town center, Miacomet is an enchanting rural setting where freshwater Miacomet Pond meets the sea amidst a stunning natural backdrop of a sandy barrier beach. Here you will find a wide expanse of beach easily accessed via Nantucket Island Land Bank property. Most of the beaches do not have lifeguards, food concessions, or restrooms. The surf tends to be stronger than other parts of the island so please use caution when swimming.
There is a delightful beach that stretches from Miacomet Pond to the ocean that's great for a Nantucket vacation for the whole family. The pond has an abundance of wildlife, including swans, turtles, ducks, and geese.
Miacomet Golf Club was recently voted the second-best public golf course in Massachusetts by Golf Week Magazine. This course is one of the jewels of the island.
